So, um, there's a Girls Gone Wild bus on 4th Ave. In front of the, uh, Bar Code. In Olympia.

In case you didn't quite catch that:

Girls Gone Wild is in Olympia.

Maybe I'm moving back to Olympia this Winter. Probably? I don't want to say much until I'm more sure of what's going on.

Maybe I'm going to Olympia this weekend, to see friends some more and go to a party.

For my birthday, I got some little chocolates shaped like seahorses, an iPod (because I already have a fur coat and diamond ring?), and a prescription for Wellbutrin. Truly, I do have everything.

I guess things are ok. I'm trying. I'm tired.

2 Scallions, white part only, crushed
Fresh ground black pepper
2 Tsp. Salt
4 Tbsp. fish sauce -(nuoc mam)
1 large Fish head or fish carcass, split down the center
1 Qt. Water
1/2 Cup canned sliced sour bamboo
1/4 Cup canned pineapple sliced down the side
1 Tsp. MSG (optional)
2 Tbsp. mixed chopped fresh Chinese parsley
green scallions

1. Sprinkle the scallions, black pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, and 4 teaspoons fish sauce over the fish head. Allow to stand for 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Bring 1 quart of water to a boil and drop in sour bamboo and pineapple slices. Cook at boiling temperature for 5 minutes.
3. Drop fish head into the actively boiling water and, keeping at a boil, add the 2 tablespoons fish sauce, remaining teaspoon salt, and a teaspoon of MSG. Boil the fish head for a total of 10 minutes.
4. Transfer to a soup tureen, sprinkle on the coriander and scallion green, and serve.

NOTE: If the fish head is dropped into water that is not boiling, it will fall apart.

We wouldn't want that, would we?

mp3 from the Old Haunts. They just had a record released on the 12th. Good job, guys! They also are going on a national tour in July or some month near July, and you should see them if they play a show near you. You like shows, don't you? I like to do my small part to promote them (and Danny and Scott's other band, Sedan) because, while I may not be friends with them per se, they have never ridiculed me to my face. Go Haunts!

I already posted this in swan_mart, but some of you who don't look at that might also enjoy it. Go Art!

-I've lost a jacket, a skull, most of my school evaluations, and probably a lot of other stuff I haven't noticed yet in my room. How?
-I had pretty pictures to share, but then discovered there was no computer connected to the scanner. So nevermind.
-I need to remember to call G.

Since Thursday or Wednesday or something, I've had a cold/flu/sinus infection-type thing with fever and shaking a lot and weird dreams. This is lame, but a pretty good excuse to stay in bed and watch movies and drink cough syrup. I have The Magdalene Sisters, Down by Love (update: it was bad), and the last disc of the first season of Six Feet Under. Feel free to send get-well care packages.

"History of Lingerie" at the Clinton St. Theater, tonight through Tuesday, 7 and 9 pm. I know this is a long shot, but is anyone interested in going?

Also, is anyone planning to see Shonen Knife in Seattle? Thurs. 3/31, Chop Suey, sometime in the evening? Hmmm?

Further proof that, as I get older, I just get less and less awesome.

A couple nights ago I found a book on the Bermuda Triangle and a wheelchair in the Value Village dumpster. It's missing a few screws, but is in good condition otherwise. So now it's sitting on the porch, being my new smoking chair and looking all creepy when empty in the middle of the night. I keep expecting its wheels to creak into motion of their own accord.

Ooooooh, slumber party tonight. Must go throw toothbrush, jammies, and Snake-ula in my backpack.
